Robert K. Elder writes about film and culture for the Chicago Tribune. His work has appeared in The New York Times, Premiere, The Los Angeles Times, The Boston Globe, Salon.com, The Oregonian and many other publications. A Montana native and graduate of the University of Oregon’s School of Journalism and Communication, Rob lives and writes in Chicago.


He is a member of the Chicago Film Critics Association, an antique typewriter enthusiast and an insatiable audiophile.


It’s a little known fact that he survived a Snuffleupagus encounter in the wild .
